There are circumstances in life that can lead people to feel anxious, depressed, stuck, run-down, or otherwise emotionally troubled. The causes are wide-ranging and can include repetition of unhealthy behaviors or patterns, traumatic experiences, stressful changes or the long-term impact of existing emotional scars. Regardless of the reason, psychotherapy is a powerful tool for healing and growth.
My role as a therapist is to provide a space where you feel comfortable and safe to work together on issues that are important to you. Everyone struggles in life from time to time and finding help is a powerful choice that you are making in changing your situation.
As your therapist, I am an active listener who will ask questions and provide feedback. Together we will focus on both insight and behavioral changes. I view the therapeutic relationship as a tool to gain insight and a deeper understanding of how one is in relationships with others. I would describe my style as warm, curious and direct.
I firmly believe that understanding your history allows you to better understand your present and make informed decisions about the future.
Together, we will work collaboratively to help you thrive in the areas that you wish to improve. My work is guided by psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness and multicultural theories.
